This training is designed to give you the tools to teach the poses, breathing techniques, and meditation effectively as well as how to sequence a class for a desired result. Whether you love yoga and wish to become a yoga teacher or looking at deepening your own practice and transforming your life, this beginner level course is for you.

During the training you will dive deep into practical anatomy, alignment philosophies, prop usage, juicy creative sequencing that is intelligently crafted, and immerse yourself in the history of yoga, philosophy, meditation and pranayama.

  • How to practice and teach both vinyasa flow and restorative, establishing an essential foundation for a centred and sustainable yoga practice.
  • Teaching methodology.
  • Principles of instruction through demonstration, observation, assisting, modifying and safely adjusting.
  • How to create different sequences that nourish yet challenge you and your students.
  • How to sequence classes with different emphasis whilst maintaining the integrity of a yoga practice.
  • How to meditate. How to practice simple but powerful pranayama techniques.
  • Understanding anatomy, the intrinsic structure of the body, and how this is applied to yoga.
  • To recognise imbalances in students and learn how to address them.
  • The subtle pranic body, the very life-force that sustains us, including the bandhas, the chakras and the Nadis.
  • The broader context of yoga philosophy, its foundations, its developments, and how it may apply both to your practice and inspire your teaching.
  • An insight and understanding of the ethical guidelines of yoga and how these may inspire your practice, your teaching and your students.

Course objectives

Objectives, goals, aims, and/or outcomes for the course: 

  • Trainees will become knowledgeable in various styles of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa, and Restorative 
  • Trainees will understand the pedagogy of yoga 
  • Trainees will learn the art of observation and adjustment in asana 
  • Trainees will become knowledgeable about the roots and philosophy of yoga, particularly the Sutras of Patanjali, and Buddhist traditions 
  • Trainees will learn the Sanskrit terms for asana 
  • Trainees will be able to teach led classes based on the Hatha tradition, Vinyasa style and Restorative style 
  • Trainees will be able to teach led classes which include basic meditation and pranayama techniques

Payment plans are available to spread the cost of your training throughout the year. Once approved, a non-refundable deposit of €400 is required to secure your place.

Pre-requisite

To attend the course students should have no less than two years of instruction under a yoga teacher and display a passion for Yoga and a commitment to practice and learning

To qualify for a place on the accredited course you must fulfil at least one of the following:

  • A genuine passion to learn Yoga and commitment to practice
  • 2 years instruction under other teachers
  • Discuss your practice history with us in person
